For millennia, people have believed that owls are mediators between the spiritual and physical world. Or messengers of the night that provide guidance, clarity and wisdom while helping to activate our intuition. I believe this all to be true. But regardless of what you believe, it’s hard to deny the compelling sensations felt when one of these birds locks eyes with you. Next time you see and owl, ask yourself… “Why now? What’s the message?”  These birds show up in our lives for a reason. Our objective is to figure out why.

THE SOUTHERN MAGNOLIA

I refer to the magnolia as the flower of the south. During the spring and summer months in the US,  these flowers seem to flourish everywhere and they're easy to spot. Their calming aroma  fills forests, neighborhoods and cities like a natural perfume adrift throughout the land. And their large white petals and elegant appearance is truly captivating. This drawing is an ode to these wonderful flowers and the simple pleasure they bring to so many people throughout the southern region of the US.

This mystifying body of water is completely out of our element yet we often feel drawn to it and seek it out for comfort, peace and guidance. It’s both a great force capable of devastating destruction and at the same time a source of life that can be so therapeutic to the soul. When we look into its calm waters, what do we see? We see ourselves… The ocean at its essence is a reflection of us and all life.
